Section C Purlins are typically made of galvanized steel and roll shaped into C sections. For simple, non-continuous span construction, Fascon C Section Purlins are recommended. Portal frames, roofs, single bay buildings, wall cladding, and flooring systems are examples of structural applications. They can also be employed on multi-bay buildings in simple spanning purlins and girts lines.
Fascon provides a variety of C profiles. Sections can be trimmed to lengths chosen by the buyer. Entire systems are also provided, including bridging, fasteners, and accessories.

Purlins should be fitted with the top flange facing up the slope from the cleat to reduce the tendency of the sections to rotate between supports or bridgings. C Sections should be installed on the cleat’s high side, with the open face pointing up the slope.
Purlins with nonstandard dimensions can also be custom made for large projects to maximize structural efficiency. Purlins can be utilized as structural steel in light-weight buildings, but only with an engineer-certified design. A Z350 (350 gr/m2) or Z450 (450 gr/m2) will be required for more severe corrosive environments. Minimum order quantities and prolonged lead times apply to this thicker coated product.
